It has long been said that "handouts" are not the answer and we agree. It is far better for a player to have to come through a real pressure situation to gain funding. What's more it is far better for all players to have a chance at such funding.

The 2008 Pro-5000 tournament is open to players rated between 4.1 and 10.2 and provides a chance for all players to earn their own funding. The PRO-5000 rewards winners.

And British tennis needs winners!

In 2008 the PRO-5000 will support a minimum of two age groups and will spread the funds by incorporating a doubles event.

£5000 will be the total purse divided between the winners and every effort will be made to accept every entry through our qualifying events.
