It seems Heather won 6-1, 6-3.

She'll play Mirza in the final.

Heather impressive again: not dropped more than 3 games in a set here so far against 4 GBTGs. More of the same against Mirza, please, Heather!

Fantastic result from the dubs final

Tara and Fran win the MTB 13-11

Hopefully not the only final Mirza loses this week-end...

I think it's worth preserving the LTA's story on this, for the sheer wtfness of it: http://www.lta.org.uk/News/All-news-items/2010-07-19/Watson-reaches-Wrexham-final-British-win-in-the-doubles/
quote:

# There was a British win in the doubles event as Anna Fitzpatrick and Tara Moore defeated the No.1 seeds Laine and Mirza 2-6, 6-3, [13-11].

# Victory for Fitzpatrick comes in her first $25k event whilst Moore, who trains at the Gosling International High Performance Centre in Hertfordshire, is enjoying a successful grass court season after reaching the quarter-finals of the girls’ singles at Wimbledon.

Also, it's always worth considering the other point of view, so here's one from India: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/tennis/top-stories/Sania-Mirza-wins-Wrexham-doubles-title/articleshow/6211821.cms
quote:
And Mumbai-born Mirza enjoyed further glory at the event in Wales just hours later as she and Laine defeated Britain's Tara Moore and Francesca Stephenson 2-6, 6-3, 13-11 in the women's doubles final.

Words fail [weeping icon]

I was tempted towards sarcasm but have resisted...

...sorry no I haven't; just taking up one of many points that could be made: the LTA have clearly overlooked the fact that THERE ARE NO GRASS COURT WOMENS ITFs POST WIMBLEDON THIS YEAR [exasperated icon]

For the men, yes; for the women, no

Fantastic week from Heather! Very impressive form to win the tournament for the loss of so few games (and no sets!).
