I can make a guess why Jenny's not playing, but not why the sisters are doing different things. Maybe Jess just fancied it and Jenny preferred to do something else.
In a week's time, there are the European junior championships (I haven't seen nominations for those) and in two and a half weeks, the 16U and 18U summer cups, for which both sisters have been nominated in separate divisions. All on clay.
Anyhow, Jenny (along with summer cup team-mates Nat and Fran) seems to playing the Austrian G1 this week, so the theory is that Jenny preferred to warm up for the Euros on clay, but either Jess isn't doing them or didn't mind doing a tournament on hard between the grass and the clay. |

Of the seeded GBTGs, only Jess made it through the qualies so for her and for Mandy and Steph; for Hannah although now drawn the 4th seed in R1...
Lisa v Emily in R1 gets a from me; with the winner likely to be playing Laura so again; Laura seeded 7 in bottom quarter with QF against her dubs partner if the seedings work.
Katie seeded 3 in second quarter; Naomi C seeded 5 in top quarter.
Laura playing dubs with Mirza (IND) and getting top seed status ; if the seedings work out their final should be against Naomi C and Anna S; Joss Rae is seeded 3 with Starr (AUS); Emily W-S teaming up again with Rogowska (AUS) as 4th seeds hoping to repeat their $25k title in Mount Gambier
Good luck all GBTGs

Pfft Steph and Mandy
Odds on Katie blowing the wimby jnr runner-up off the court vs katie going into self destruct mode and losing in 3?
Hoping her superb showing vs alona has given her enough to push on and get into form rather than knocking what confidence she had left out of her.
Would love to see her do well here, hope the finger burn blisters aren't too big a hindrance.
I reckon Mirza is vulnerable here, be great if a GBTG could see her off |

| Jess is nominated for the Euro 16U next week, by the way, as is Jenny for the 18U. |

Worryingly close from Katie but good to edge out a tight one. Tara's back to her streaky best... |

Never in doubt Katie [;-)]
Lol Tara - never know whether your going to get excellence or, well, that.
Good win for Anna - a few good weeks and she New York is not unrealistic given its a 128draw.
Lucy but hopefully she can get some success at 10k level over the next year now she's got her ranking |

Ah well.
